UC Davis CPEI Short-Term Content-Based Programs
UC Davis CPEI Short-Term Content-Based Programs are ideal for international undergraduate and graduate students and international professionals who want an intensive learning experience in a short time frame. Each program features a specific topic of interest with a strong focus on building educational and professional skills that will increase academic and employment opportunities. We offer three in-person programs that are each four weeks long and take place on the UC Davis campus, as well as three remote-learning programs that can be completed entirely online.
San Francisco Discover
San Francisco State University CPGE
Improve your English, and experience the entrepreneurial and innovative City of San Francisco. San Francisco Discover is an English language and culture program that uses the city of San Francisco as the classroom. The program combines language study at the San Francisco State University campus and SF State Downtown Campus, with excursions throughout the city’s colorful and exciting neighborhoods.
As a student in the program you will improve your English skills while you learn how San Francisco has become a global center of entrepreneurship and innovation. You will have the opportunity to explore the arts, business, culture and technology of the city as you practice your English skills with locals from a variety of backgrounds.

UC San Diego English Language Institute
Our English Language programs are developed for students who have high-beginning to advanced English proficiency. We offer general English programs with structured skill-building and high-interest conversation, as well as academic English, and English for specific purposes. Our 4-week and long-term English programs are CEA-accredited.*
The UC San Diego English Language Institute (ELI) offers courses throughout the year to students who are 18 years of age and older. Testing before beginning the program determines your class placement. UC San Diego English Language Institute (ELI) offers 8 levels of instruction. You will progress to the next level when you meet specific language skill requirements. Our proficiency levels for our short-term and 8-week programs describe the expected learning outcomes at each level.
Students must demonstrate a minimum high-beginner level of proficiency in order to participate in group classes. Students who do not qualify for full participation in English language programs will be scheduled for private or semi-private lessons with ELI instructors for an additional fee.
UC Irvine DCEIP Intensive ESL
Prepare for university-level study, career advancement, or for the accomplishment of personal goals in our CEA-accredited, academically oriented 10-Week Intensive English as a Second Language Program.
